Course Goals:

 Course participants will:


✔ Obtain a working knowledge of the DBT Skills


✔ Be able to flexibly and comfortably teach skills to their clients


Feel confident in helping clients become skillful in their day-to-day lives


✔ Understand when a client needs full DBT versus when skills can be a helpful addition to treatment


 

When:

Meets weekly on Thursdays from 12:00 pm-1:30 pm EST on Zoom, live only

 You financially commit to one module at a time, although we highly recommend you do all three! You will receive 25% off of the second module you register for and 50% off the third module. Alumni receive 75% off.

Interpersonal Effectiveness Module

(Beginning after Summer Break)

  • 7 Sessions
    • Week 1 (09/12/24): Orientation and Wise Mind
    • Week 2 (09/19/24): Mindfulness What and How Skills
    • Week 3 (09/26/24): Introduction to Interpersonal Effectiveness
    • Week 4 (10/10/24): DEAR MAN
    • Week 5 (10/31/24): GIVE and Validation
    • Week 6 (11/07/24): FAST, Troubleshooting and Mindfulness  of Others
    • Week 7 (11/14/24): Dialectics and Behavior Change  

Distress Tolerance Module

  • 7 Sessions
    • Week 1 (11/21/24): Orientation and Wise Mind
    • Week 2 (11/28/24): Mindfulness What and How Skills
    • Week 3 (12/05/24): Intro to Distress Tolerance, STOP, Pros & Cons 
    • Week 4 (12/12/24): TIP
    • Week 5 (12/19/24): Distract with ACCEPTS, Self-Soothe, and IMPROVE
    • Week 6 (12/26/24): Radical Acceptance
    • Week 7 (01/02/25): Turning the mind, Willingness

Emotion Regulation Module

  • 7 sessions
    • Week 1 (01/09/25): Orientation and Wise Mind
    • Week 2 (01/16/25): Mindfulness What and How Skills
    • Week 3 (01/23/25): Introduction to Emotion Regulation
    • Week 4 (01/30/25): Check the Facts and Problem Solving
    • Week 5 (02/06/25): Opposite Action
    • Week 6 (02/13/25): Accumulating Positives in the Short Term and Long Term, Build Mastery, Cope Ahead
    • Week 7 (02/20/25): PLEASE and Mindfulness of Emotions
